Summer - poem

Summer

The sunshine beams through the new wealth of green leaves
Bringing me back to simpler days
Soccer with friends, every day, sunrise to sunset
As I dwell on "the good old days"
I realize, perhaps it's time to appreciate the present

Divide - poem

Divide

A strange creature
A thousand different languages
A thousand miles
Is an entire different way of life
Every day, a war over culture and skin colour
Maybe one day, it will end
For all our differences, we still are one

Sports - Cinquain poem

Sports
Alive proud
Inspiring, challenging, fulfilling
Where I feel my best
Athlete

Lions

Lions

A sea of orange
The crowd erupts in a mighty roar
Over at the Lions game

CW prompt assignment

John rolled out of bed at 6:30 AM, the same time he always did, and tiredly dragged himself over to his closet. He reached in and grabbed the first shirt, hoodie and pants he could find, it wasn't like it mattered what he grabbed, all he had in his closet was 7 different sets of the exact, uniform outfit. "Least it hides the soot" he muttered. He then grabbed the last piece of his outfit: a black gas mask. He quickly prepped and ate a bowl of oatmeal, put the gas mask on and walked out a giant hole in his house where a wall once stood, into the nuclear winter he was far too familiar with.
